Happy Birthday, Gill!

For Gill's birthday, Patrick and I decided we wanted to take her up to Huber's Farm and Orchard and spend the day with her!  We spent the morning picking blackberries and peaches, riding the wagons to the orchard, playing with the animals at the petting zoo, riding pedal carts and kuboda tractors, and having a nice dinner at Huber's restaurant...fun and sweet memories with our now 3 year old niece!
Our best shot at a group picture for the day...

She LOVED the talking tree!

Fust Family house projects...

Summer has brought us hot weather, a new job, and finally (FINALLY) time to work on our home!  We've been painting and rearranging furniture...hanging pictures, gardening, and selling old furniture...such fun projects when our schedule allows us to work on them at a reasonable pace!  I'll post pictures of our progress along...here's what we've been up to as of late!

First project:  Painting the bathroom.

My oh-so-handsome hubby!

I didn't get a full before shot...but this was the color of the wall.

Ta-da!  We do still have a bit of trim work to finish.

And this was our second project--painting our deck.  These first three are all before shots...

And the finished project!
(We're hoping our neighbor gets his done soon...)

Happy 4th of July!!!

Just a few days overdue!  Patrick and I went to spend the holiday (well, July 3rd) with his dad's side of the family.  We had a great afternoon grilling, swimming, playing cornhole and bocce ball, bingo, and fireworks.  Perfect night (though a little hot) that ended with a huge thunderstorm (best fireworks of all!)!  Here are a few pictures from the day...
Our super cute, super easy dessert!  We took ready made phyllo shells (you could also use tart shells) and filled them with a cream cheese mixture (8 ounces cream cheese, 1 tablespoon of milk, 3 tablespoons of confectioners sugar, and 1/2 cup whipped cream).  Then arrange on a tray and top with blueberries and halved strawberry slices to make stars and stripes!

A few of our favorite people!!

Family!

Don was our master game organizer...serveral tournaments!  We won our first round of cornhole...lost the second one pretty badly!
